I think in the 70s, the makeups are still too heavily influenced from the stage-opera.
As Singapore get the TV serials later than HK, I'm never sure when watching something in the 80s whether it was a product from the previous decade.
I do like those girls in the 80s too. I don't know whether it was just the influence of a young boy's hormones, I don't find them (in general) as interesting in the 90s and later.
Wow Adam so young and good looking.. yes today he is still very good as an actor and singer. If you ask me who are my fave celebrities, I can only quote names who were famous in the 80s.. some still are famous today, like Adam and Chow Yuen Fatt.
Same here, and I am not really sure why either. I still see many pretty faces. Maybe sometimes its their too modern hairstyles. The worst are the jarring 'comtemporary' performances by some of the ladies which does not do much for my sense of verisimilitude. The younger girls can take a cue from their seniors. An arched brow, a slight twitch of the mouth, a certain shift of the body conveys volumes.
Ah, brings back such good memories!
ReplyDeleteeh? I think you did not exist at that time... :-)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if I agree with Snowy's view on the ladies... Preferred the 80s myself, less makeup.

ReplyDeleteNice! There was a dignity and properness in the films of that era. Brought a small case of goosebumps when I heard the song.
