It's 《歌八百壮士》, composed during 2nd Sino-Japanese War, inspired by the events of Defense of Sihang Warehouse (四行仓库保卫战), 1937, from Oct 26 to Nov 1. The 谢团长 in the song referred to 谢晋元.

It is a little fast, but still readable. It is displayed at the same speed as their dialogue. In the case of their exchange of the passwords, I am somewhat biased since I already know what words will be displayed. ;-)

Oh yes, 泰迪罗宾 or Teddy Robin (Kwan) (his original name was 關維鵬) is still alive. During my last trip to HK end 2007, I caught a segment of a talkshow between him and Chen Baixiang (Natalis Chan 陳百祥), talking about their children growing up and encouraging their children to pursue their own dreams (in music) without distracted by thoughts of commercialism or financial success.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea either until I did further research on it after obtaining its lyrics from the subtitles. All these years, until I found the clip yesterday, I always thought it went 中国不会倒 instead of 中国不会亡. Seems the song is probably much more well known in China, HK and Taiwan. Even got a wiki entry in English http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/800_Heroes_Song (and in Chinese too, of course).
