yup. The cinematographic is actually pretty good but the acting was distinctively non-hollywood style and more like japanese series. Still, not a bad movie to watch once at least, even if the storyline was predictable and the plot rather thin.
Well, we know the Yamato sailed and the Yamato sank ...
Though just yesterday, I was thinking of writing an "alternate" or "speculative" history of Western Han's founding ... where Han Xin was only announced to be killed but was secretly spared by Liu Bang and forced to live in obscurity to secure the stability of the Han establishment in its infancy ...
I, or was it my brother, had a Yamato model when we were kids. We also had the Akagi. For some reasons, the Japanese warships seemed to have cooler designs than Allies. Even the Germans' were ... edgier.
This carries a segment from the original "Space Battleship Yamato" anime - which was removed from the English version "Star Blazers". Understandable, given the time.
I tried to post in multiply but the upload hung for some reason.
I have a Japanese Movie called "Yamato" but its an older movie and of the real yamato. A bit draggy but ok to watch.
ReplyDeleteWas that the 2005 film? I recall reading that they only built half the ship for the set.

Ya SB, next time put spoiler alert. But luckily you didn't say anything about Japan losing the war or he'll throw an even bigger spoiler fit.
