To go or not to go ...

Snowylady's on course, and part of the course requires an overseas observation trip for a week.  Luck of the draw, she drew Vietnam.

The major decision now is whether the family will go with her too.

My consideration are 2-fold: it coincides with production cutover of the project I've been working on since December.

Then there's the kids, who never went to bed until mummy's home ...

Personally though, I know very little of Vietnam and know no one there, so I have no idea what to do with the kids while Snowylady's at work.

  1. Not only that, you may feel a little guilty when you and the kids are having a ball of a time while your Missy is at work..ie assuming that the hotel you are staying in provides good complimentary city tours...

But the project you have on hand now needs some consideration, whether it can be on hold.. otherwise I say, Go!

  2. Which part of Vietnam? The North can be very different from the South.

I would say go if you can manage it, it will be a good experience for the kids.

  4. On second thoughts I must say Vietnam is probably more hassle than other more developed countries when bringing kids along. The pollution I hear is getting worst.

  5. I used to have a neighbour who visited a Vietnamese beach town often with the family, they'd have known what to suggest. Too bad they had moved back to Israel and we've lost touch.

  6. Some of Snowylady's coursemates are plotting how to get their destination country for conducting the observation changed from Vietnam to say ... Denmark ...

This is despite a reminder from the officer in charge that the purpose of the trip is for the participants to ... fulfill what they want ...
